FAQs
What is the cost to host a seminar?
Seminars are generally offered at a per-participant rate, with many community events structured around an accessible $10 per person model. We can also work with organizations that prefer to sponsor the event for their group. Contact us for details and availability.
What do we need to provide?
Host organizations simply need to provide an open floor space such as a gymnasium, large meeting room, or cleared open area. Prevail supplies all necessary mats and equipment. Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and all waivers must be completed and signed before participation.
How old do participants need to be?
We have led seminars for children as young as 6 years old, introducing Jiu Jitsu through age-appropriate games and simple self-defense concepts such as basic grip breaks and body awareness. We also offer youth-only, adult-only, family-style, and mixed-age seminars where parents and children can train together.
For participants under the age of 18, a waiver signed by a legal guardian is required.
Is this safe?
Safety is a top priority. All instruction is beginner-friendly and closely supervised. Techniques are taught in a controlled and structured manner, with an emphasis on awareness, positioning, and safe partner drills. No prior experience is required.
Can we request a women’s-only event?
Absolutely. We offer women’s-only, youth-only, adult-only, and parent-child seminars. Women’s-only events would be led by Gwen, who leads the women’s program at Prevail. We’re happy to structure the seminar in a way that best serves your community.
